Training system analysis

Programmes, training data, grades, repeatability of results, competencies and the work of the instructor corps.

What we do

We analyse the training programme and its actual results: the structure of grades by competency and element, settled weak areas, differences between units and aircraft types, programme coverage, and the repeatability of results for the same people.

The work of the instructor corps is examined separately: the distribution of grades, the ability of check elements to distinguish levels of preparation, and how training needs arise and get closed.

Where operational data is available, training results are compared with the patterns found in flight.

How we work

  1. Data
  2. Analysis
  3. Findings
  4. Recommendations

Form of the result

From you: the programme structure, training records and grades over a year or more, the competency model and the grading scale. Flight data is optional and widens the analysis.

Result: an analytical report broken down by competency, unit and period, a list of settled weak areas, and proposals for changing the programme together with a plan for measuring the effect.

Acceptance: a presentation to the head of training and the methodologists.

Where data falls short: we state which records need to be kept and from what point a full analysis becomes possible.

What the airline gets

The airline receives a separation of causes: where the problem belongs to training, where to a procedure, and where to the data and the way it is measured.

For every proposed change to the programme we establish in advance which indicator will show whether it worked.
